Passivation is a critical step to extending the life of your stainless steel equipment. When installing new equipment, modifying existing equipment, or have had abuse to old equipment, you will want to consider having the equipment passivated. Stainless steel is made up of iron, nickel and Chrome. Passivation removes the iron from the surface and allows the nickel and chrome to bond together creating a cleanable sanitary surface.
